FIREWORKS!!!

On Saturday, November 10th Kuwait celebrated 50 years of its constitution.  Kuwait is the first country in the Gulf to have a parliament and constitution.  Of course, they did it Kuwaiti-style and decided to set off 77, 282 fireworks, setting a Guinness World Record.  Yes, my friends, you read that right.  There were over seventy-seven THOUSAND fireworks lit that night.  It cost around $15 million dollars.  The show lasted a little over an hour.  It was amazing!

The show was roughly five miles long (that is a VERY rough guesstimate - we all know I teach English and not Math for a reason).  We watched it from a hotel shisha bar roughly 3 miles away.  We sat on the balcony and watched the massive display.  I was excited, because I wanted to see it, but I really did not want to head all the way downtown and deal with the traffic after the show because Sunday is a school day.  Turns out it wouldn't have mattered, because the Amir cancelled school :)  Bless him!

Anyways, I have included my pictures of what the show looked like from where we sat.  I have also included links at the bottom.  Those pictures are better!  Take a look!
