Year 1 in the Desert: Last Day!!!!!!!!

Well, this has been quite the school year! I've had a crazy, fun, insane, rip-my-hair-out, laugh-with-complete-abandon kind of year. It's been stressful and completely amazing all at the same time!

I always knew that teachers deserved their summer vacation, and now I get to truly appreciate what it means to them! I am completely exhausted, yet already excited for next year - partially because I now know what my class rules and expectations are going to look like, and it's a doozy thanks to 3rd block :) I've already told them how much I appreciate how helpful they've been in that respect!

On the last review day before finals started, I had students coming up to me to give me hugs because they were sad our time together was over. It was really sweet! Don't get me wrong, they're completely excited to be done with school for the year and have a break (just like the teachers...), but to know that they enjoyed our time together in my class made the entire year worth it.

Since sister-dear told me I should have more posts like my last one, here are a few parting pictures to get you through until next Fall. Yes, I am taking a break!

One last Korean-Bombed board with the inclusion of the 'Dougies.' The kids name, by the way, isn't Doug, but he asked me to call him that, and so I did. The entire year I kept looking for Doug in my gradebook and had to remind myself what his real name is! Oh, and from what another student told me, the Korean says nice things about me :)

I had messages of love on my board all last week. It was super sweet!

For those of you unfamiliar with text-speak, that ROFL = Rolling on the Floor Laughing. So glad to know they have a sense of humor about it :)-

This was written on one of the last essays I graded on the last day of finals. Can I get an Amen?!
