I just thought I'd write a quick post to let everyone know that everything is okay here. There were some protests over this weekend at the Embassy, but nothing violent. I've been out and about all weekend and it was just business as usual for everyone.
The main thing that I want everyone to remember is that the violence that is occurring throughout the Middle East is not the way most people here feel. The majority are not participating in acts of violence. It's a case where a few people do extreme things that cause a downward spiral, so to speak.
I am registered with the Embassy here, so they know I'm in the country. If something were to happen here, please don't worry. I'll make it home just fine..or, at least to Europe! ;)
In other news, I already have laryngitis, 2 weeks of school have passed and I'm loving it, and we had 2 days when I first got here that were 113 with a 63% humidity - I felt like I was in a freaking jungle and not the desert!
