Day 3 - Continued (Still!)
After the Ancient Agora, we went to the Parthenon (Acropolis), then we wandered through the Roman Agora on our way to the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. We started at the Ancient Acropolis because the lines for the tickets are smaller there, and you could enter the Acropolis from the back of the Agora. When we got to the Parthenon, we were really glad we did that! The lines were huge! Once we finished that, we actually had a coffee break before heading on to Hadrain's Arch and Zeus' Temple. Even in taking our time, we were able to see a lot on our 3rd day in Athens. A lot of guidebooks say you only need 3 days, and there's definitely some truth to that! I definitely appreciated being able to sleep in most days we were there, so if a more leisurely trip is on your agenda, take a few extra days to enjoy the city.
The Temple of Zeus:

| A view of the Temple of Zeus from the Acropolis. |
| Ancient stone (walls?) on entering the temple area. |
| The Temple of Zeus. |
| You can see how large the pillars are in this picture since you have the standing pillar and the crashed pillar in the same view. |

Hadrian's Arch:
| You could pay him money to pose for a picture with him. I just snuck in a picture from the side... |
| After all that sightseeing we were getting pretty hungry and thirsty. We wandered into some back streets to look for something delicious to eat. |
| Of course, wine was on the agenda. Let's be honest, it was on the agenda more than once a day. I loved this pitcher - I wanted to put it in my bag and bring it home with me. I was a good girl and left it there. |
| Greek salad was also a mainstay of my Greek diet. I ate this at least once a day as well. Why deny myself something that was so good? |
