I'm a Canadian!

Monday, October 10th, 2011

Today’s ray of fun was the Canadians in Kuwait dinner. Yes my friends, I am officially a Canadian in Kuwait! See:

They held a dinner at the Radisson Hotel’s Ballroom(?). It is a dowd. A dowd is a traditional fishing boat. This particular is the largest one in the world, certified by The Guinness Book of World Records and everything!

The back of the Dowd.

See, it really is certified!

The dining room / inside the ship.

It was your typical (and some parts not-so-typical) Thanksgiving Dinner: turkey, mashed potatoes (oh the potatoes!), gravy, stuffing, brussel sprouts, carrots, broccoli, spinach and cheese tortellini, and dessert! There was no pumpkin pie, but there was spiced pumpkin soup – it was delicious! The dessert table was three tables long and was full of delicious little mini desserts. I had some cheesecake and some chocolate things and some pineapple. I ate way too much and totally didn’t regret it, except for the slightly uncomfortable feeling, but I knew that would go away!

This of course meant that I stayed up way too late on a school night, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!
